20 therapist-guided exercises for understanding responses, exploring coping and building everyday choice.

Bring a manageable focus to collaborative adult therapy sessions. Clients map a recent situation, notice thoughts and responses, choose a way to request a pause, compare what helps and what needs adapting, and gather personally useful support options. Responses can be written, drawn or spoken; clients can adapt, pass or leave spaces blank.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
• 40 US Letter pages (8.5 × 11 inches) in a printable PDF.
• 20 single-page exercises across five flexible parts.
• 12 pocket cards across three sheets: pause and choice, present-time cues, support and takeaways.
• Therapist quick-start, client introduction and activity chooser.
• Fictional worked example, exercise notes and adaptations.
• Session planner, three suggested session routes and optional between-session practice.
• Printing, privacy, storage and further-reading guidance.
All exercises, cards and supporting pages are included within the 40-page total.

FIVE FLEXIBLE PARTS
1. Making sense of my responses: map a recent reaction, explore what a response was trying to do, connect a known reminder with support, and separate facts from unknowns.
2. Noticing and keeping choice available: identify signs for continuing or pausing, practise a pause request, choose whether internal or external noticing suits today, create a present-time cue and evaluate a coping option.
3. Making support practical: identify a first option and backup, request appointment adjustments, compare short-term help with longer-term effects, and explore the costs of a coping strategy without dismissing its purpose.
4. Exploring beliefs and personal choice: make broad statements more precise, compare past and current circumstances, consider hindsight and available choices, rewrite a critical statement in honest language and identify a preference.
5. Keeping what is useful: notice personally meaningful progress and build an everyday toolkit from selected learning.

HOW TO USE
Choose one relevant page together, agree a manageable focus and explain the client's options. Explore the prompts at a suitable pace, review what to keep or change, and agree any practical next step. The order is flexible; it is not a treatment sequence. Take-home practice is optional and agreed with the therapist.

WHO IT IS FOR
Therapists, counsellors and appropriately qualified mental health professionals working collaboratively with adults affected by trauma. Use within professional competence and an individual clinical plan.

These are original trauma-informed support tools, not a diagnostic assessment, validated measure, crisis safety plan, professional training or standalone trauma treatment. They do not require a detailed trauma narrative or direct independent trauma processing. No outcome is guaranteed.

PRINTING AND DOWNLOAD
Digital product; no physical item is supplied. Print the pages you need at home or work. The verified format is a printable US Letter PDF; no fillable or A4 version is promised. Cut out the optional pocket cards if useful and agree privacy/storage arrangements with the client.
